Travels and Knowledge (China, Macau and Global Connections)

摘要

The eight studies published herein are on the travels, travelers, information and knowledge resulting from the global international connections from the late 16th to mid-20th centuries. Studies with different perspectives, research drawing on diverse data, in many languages such as Chinese and Latin, Portuguese and Spanish (Castilian), German and Dutch. Qualitative and quantitative data seen from a multidisciplinary stance but in keeping with the topics and the problems of displacement in the space of groups, institutions, ideas and information. Integrating the research problem with the topic of the multiple connection between places, the transfer of people and knowledge.

Doutorado em Cultura Portuguesa pela Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa e Professor Catedrático de História da Faculdade de Letras daquela Universidade. É desde 2019, Diretor do Centro de História da Universidade de Lisboa. Foi presidente do Centro Científico e Cultural de Macau, I. P. e, anteriormente, diretor do Instituto de Estudos Portugueses da Universidade de Macau. Em 1998, foi Professor Visitante/Diretor de Investigação da École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, (Paris) e em 2000 Professor Visitante em Universidades de Beijing, Shanghai, Hefei. As suas obras são de história cultural, sociologia histórica das culturas e teoria e história das relações interculturais com especialização em cultura portuguesa renascentista e em relações eurasiática.

1985年北京外國語學院葡萄牙語專業畢業；1997年獲南京大學歷史學博士學位。
1988年加入澳門基金會，現任該會行政委員會主席。澳門文化界聯合總會會長、中國作家協會會員、全國委員會委員，全國港澳研究會顧問。 1993年底始主編多套叢書，並合作主編《粵澳公牘錄存》、《澳門百科全書》、《澳門總覽》、《明清時期澳門問題檔案文獻匯編》、《澳門編年史》、《澳門史新編》和列國漢學史書系等。著有《葡萄牙印象》、《澳門政制》、《東西交匯看澳門》、《生存之道──論澳門政治制度與政治發展》及《一個沒有悲情的城市》等。合著有《澳門政治社會研究》、《鏡海飄渺》、《東西望洋》、《過十字門》、《早期澳門史論》。
