回歸前的過渡期期間，澳門的經濟歷經轉型蛻變，楊允中教授為早期深入研究澳門經濟的學者。他提出的“微型經濟體”概念，更好地切合澳門的實際情況，也有利與其他不同的經濟體進行對比分析。本部分選輯了這期間楊教授針對澳門經濟的狀況、面對的挑戰，以及如何發揮自身優勢作應對策略的深入剖析內容。
全書152頁，編入作者在不同時期發表的經濟論文17篇，涉及分析澳門工業轉型，旅遊業優化及旅遊區域合作，澳門經濟管理提高等問題。是較早探討澳門經濟結構轉型和區域經濟合作的綜合性論著。
本書主要分三大部分論述澳門經濟發展的基本規律、特徵和前景。第一部分，四百年經濟演變的啟示。揭示澳門從開埠以來到20世紀50年代經濟變遷的歷史軌跡和進入現經濟的原因及條件。第二部分，現代經濟增長與澳門產業結構的特點。研究澳門微型經濟的性質及其在世界微型經濟中的地位和作用，評估澳門經濟發展水平和分析澳門產業結構的分佈與聯糸。第三部分，對澳門經濟發展路向探討。提出了澳門經濟發展的挑戰和機遇，以及其發展策略和未來發展模式。該書提出的澳門微型經濟理論較具創意，具有系統性、學術性及可讀性，是了解和深入研究澳門經濟的一本有價值的參考書。
本書是由17位澳門本地經濟學家和企業家撰寫的31篇論文彙編而成，涵蓋了產業轉型的重要性、發展目標、戰略、方法，保障措施和其他相關領域。其中，本書既有理論認識的介紹，也有實踐經驗的提煉。它不僅對近年來工業轉型示範做了全面的回顧和總結，而且對整個澳門社會福祉的相關重大問題展開了充分的討論和交流。
This book is a compilation of 31 papers written by 17 economists and entrepreneurs in Macao, covering the importance of industrial transformation, development goals, strategies, approaches, safeguards and other fields. Among them, there are both theoretical understanding and summary of the practical experience. On only is it a review and summary of the demonstration of industrial transformation in recent years, but also is a discussion and exchange of this major issue concerning the well-being of the whole Macao society.

澳門近年經濟迅速發展,本地生產總值、旅客數字、政府財政收入、居民生活質量持續上升。經濟進入了相對高速發展的週期後,澳門社會面對的機遇與隱憂並存,推動澳門可持續發展的策略研究已成為一項有實際探索價值的迫切課題。本書正是在此基礎進行的 “微型經濟與微型經濟學”專題研究結果。該項研究以微型經濟體的“微型”特質為切入點,全面探討微型經濟的基本特徵、發展規律及其未來發展走向,並嘗試對經濟學理論的深入研究提出了一些可行的構想。該項研究挑選了包括澳門在內遍佈亞、歐、美、大洋、非洲共11個具代表性的微型經濟體作系統的案例研究,力求嚴謹地歸納總結同微型經濟體相關的一些理論與實踐性問題。該研究報告還針對微型經濟體自身的優劣勢和運營特點,重點探討作為典型微型經濟體的澳門在新世紀的發展策略和求生之道,整理出一些可供各界深入論證參考的澳門未來可持續發展的可行舉策。
This research takes the“mini”characteristic of Macao as the starting point, exploring the main features of mini-economies, their regular development patterns and their future perspectives. It is hoped that through systematic, meticulous empirical study and thorough assessments of the economic growth, the successful experiences and hidden uncertainties of some mini-economies with global significance can be presented; thus, some objective and practical strategic suggestions for the economic development of the Macao SAR can be made. Another aim is to make some contributions to the systematic study of mini-economies, an innovative research topic. By adopting modern economic theories and methodologies and combining specific case studies, the present research hopes to enhance its practicability and academic value.
