  • PREFACEItiswellknownthattheongoingprocessofeconomicgrowthandstructuralchangeinPRC'seconomyhasmanyimplicationsnotonlyfortheChinesepeoplebutalsoforthewholeworldeconomy.Thereis,ofcourse,amatterofsize,whenwetakeintoconsiderationthealmostcontinentaldimensionofChina.ButthereisalsoanequallyrelevantqualitativeperspectivewhenwetrytoanalyzethePRC'sgreatexperimentoncontrolledtransitiontoaspecifickindofmarketeconomy.TheanalysisoftheprocessofchangeintheChineseeconomicsystemthatWangXuelipresentinherMBAthesisisinterestinginsideresearchonsomerelevantpointsofthegreatChineseexperiment.Herresearchisaboutthereformoflargeandmediumscalestateenterprises,whichtheauthorcalls"keyoftransitionfromcentralplanningtosocialistmarketeconomy".Possibly,themostinterestingpartofthestudyistheanalysisofdifferent"casestudies"concerningseveralprocessesofreform:mergerandacquisition,"improved"contractresponsibilitysystem,leasing,shareholdingandbusinessgroup.Lookingatthesecases,theoriginalityandpragmatismoftheChineseeconomicreformersarequiteobvious.Afewgeneralremarksaboutthismegatransitiontotheglobalmarketeconomy:IncludingPRC,thereare,atpresent,morethantwobillionpeoplelivingintransitionaleconomies,thatis,economiesthatinonewayoranother,
